LOVES PARK — Elite Sports Center cut the ribbon on Tuesday on a second phase of work that’s turning a portion of the northwest corner of Riverside Boulevard and Forest Hills Road into an indoor an outdoor sports complex.
Owners Darko Gligorevic and Mike Urena have officially opened a 24,000-square-foot indoor complex at 6800 Forest Hills Road. It’s filled with a 180-by-120 foot premium artificial turf field that can be configured with a full baseball infield or used for soccer, football, rugby and other sports and activities. A 3,000-square-foot mezzanine with a bar overlooks the field and features a 10-foot-by-16-foot television as its centerpiece.
The new facility debuted a little more than a year after Elite Sports Center cut the ribbon on its first indoor training complex, which is next door and has 10,000 square feet of space. Next up, Urena and Gligorevic plan to add a grass outdoor soccer field to the nearly 11-acre lot. The goal is to have that ready by late summer 2027…
