ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police have identified a suspect in the fatal shooting of a 19-year-old man in Rockford Friday evening.
Around 5 p.m. Friday, Rockford police responded to the area of Miriam Avenue and Andrews Street for a report of a gunshot victim. When officers arrived, they found a 19-year-old man suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital, where he died Saturday morning.
Following an investigation, Rockford Police identified Mauri Scott, 21, of Rockford, as a suspect. He is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated battery, armed robbery, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.
