Congratulations to our brand-new Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Kaitlyn Nelson from Byron Middle School.
Sheila Quigley penned this lovely letter about Mrs. Nelson:
My son is 12 years old, in 7th grade, and currently attends Byron Middle School in a self-contained classroom. He is non-verbal and has Autism. This is the start of his 2nd year with Mrs. Nelson. She has gone above and beyond for my son. She has changed his schedule to better accommodate his needs. She is in constant contact with me if there are any issues or concerns. She plans monthly field trips or outings to help him and his classmates acclimate to the public.
