ROCKFORD — One of the last standing pre-Civil War buildings in downtown is on track to enter its new era next summer, when it will welcome its first residents and commercial tenants, according to developer Urban Equity Properties.
The 169-year-old former Chick House Hotel, which sits at the corner of South Main and Elm streets across from the BMO Center, is in the midst of a $14.5 million redevelopment that will transform it into the Chick House Flats.
