Driver hospitalized after crashing into utility pole, flipping vehicle in Rochelle

ROCHELLE, Ill. (WTVO) — A 38-year-old was hospitalized on Thursday following a single-vehicle rollover accident in Rochelle.

The incident occurred shortly before 6:48 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 38 and West County Line Road, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, identified as Eshonda Brooks, of DeKalb, was reportedly traveling eastbound on Route 38 when Brooks lost control of the vehicle.

The vehicle then slid into a nearby ditch, collided with a utility pole and flipped onto its roof. Brooks was trapped inside the vehicle following the accident, requiring assistance from Malta and DeKalb fire departments.
