Bus, car collide at entrance to Eisenhower Middle School

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A bus carrying approximately 16 students was involved in an automobile crash at Eisenhower Middle School on Thursday morning.

According to a Rockford Public Schools spokesperson, the bus was headed for the school when the collision with a sedan happened at the intersection of Spring Creek Road and Driftwood Lane around 9:56 a.m., at the entrance to the school.

The driver of the car was rushed to a local hospital for what was described as minor injuries.

No students were injured, but they were brought to the school nurse for evaluation.

The bus company, First Student, will be notifying the families of the students involved in the crash, the spokesperson said.
