Family petitions to deny parole for 1977 convict

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) – 46 years after the murder of a Loves Park girl, wounds are reopened, as the man responsible requests his release on parole. Louise Betts was 17-years-old when she was kidnapped, raped and murdered by Curtis Brownell in 1977. Since the crimes Brownell committed took place before February 1978, he is entitled to request parole on a one-to-five-year basis.
