ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A Rockford man awaits his sentencing after a jury convicted him Thursday of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder. Darrell McLin, 43, was charged in June 2021 for the shooting death of 38-year-old Latonya Whitfield. He was also accused of shooting another man in the abdomen. McLin was arrested a few weeks later in Arizona.
