Classes canceled at Rochelle High School after medical emergency involving student

ROCHELLE, Ill. (WTVO) — A “serious medical emergency involving a student” Thursday morning has led to Rochelle Township High School administrators dismissing classes for the entire day.

In a message to parents, Superintendent Jason Harper said the incident took place before the morning bell had rung, and paramedics were called.

Harper did not specify the nature of the incident but went on to say that counselors and staff would be available for students. “We understand that some students may be ready to talk about the events that took place today,” he said.

Classes will remain in session for elementary schools and Rochelle Middle School.

Rochelle Township High School is located at 1401 Flagg Road.
