Driver who ran from crash on interstate near Janesville arrested

JANESVILLE, Wis. — A 22-year-old man was arrested Thursday morning after Wisconsin State Patrol officials said he crashed his truck on I-39/90 near Janesville then ran from the scene.

Troopers, along with Janesville police and EMS crews, were called to mile marker 175 along southbound I-39/90 just after 6 a.m. for a report of a pickup truck crashing into a median wall.

The truck was found disabled in the far-left lane. Several other vehicles had crashed into the truck before law enforcement arrived.

When troopers got to the scene, they reportedly found that the driver of the truck had ran from the area. One of the occupants of another vehicle involved in the crash had suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.

Janesville officers were eventually able to find and arrest the man. The State Patrol did not release his name or any description of him but said he faces multiple criminal charges.

In total, two people were injured, and the incident led to two lanes of I-39/90 being closed for about an hour.
