“Overtime” GOW: Big defensive effort propels Hononegah girls past Boylan

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — Our “Overtime” Game of the Week took us to Boylan Friday night for a thriller of a NIC-10 girls matchup between the Lady Titans and Hononegah.

With a win, Hononegah would clinch at least a share of the conference championship.

A big defensive effort from the Indians propelled them past Boylan 39-33. Allyson Niedfeldt led Hono with 11 points followed by Olivia Robinson with 10.

Lily Esparza was well guarded by the Indians but she still put up 14 points with 10 boards.

The Hononegah girls are 24-3 overall on the season and 15-0 in the conference. That’s now 53-straight conference wins for the Indians. Boylan drops to 23-5 on the year and 14-3 in NIC-10 play.
