Hononegah boys win 14th straight NIC-10 swimming championship

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The NIC-10 boys conference swim meet took place at Jefferson Saturday afternoon.

Auburn junior James Murray won two individual events, the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle.

Harlem’s Boden Shields had himself a day. He touched first in the 200 individual medley as well as the 100 freestyle.

There was a packed house at Jefferson High School to watch another dominant performance from the Hononegah boys swim and dive team.

Senior Owen West raced down the lane in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.72 seconds to take first place. He also won the 100 backstroke.

Hono had another first place finish from junior CALE MILES in the 100 butterfly.

Behind the efforts of West and Miles, Hononegah won their 14th straight conference championship. Below are the team and individual results from the NIC-10 boys swim meet.
