BELOIT, Wis. — A Beloit family is being forced from their home after a fire overnight.
The Beloit Fire Department says it was called to the home on the 500 block of Vernon Ave., just about a couple blocks from the Wisconsin-Illinois border, at about 1:10 a.m. Monday. The people living in the home were outside when fire crews first arrived.
Fire officials are still trying to determine a cause for the fire, but say about $40,000 in damage was done to the home and items inside.

The Beloit Fire Department says the Red Cross is helping the family that was displaced. No one was injured in the fire or the response.
