ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A woman is pronounced dead early Tuesday morning after being hit by a car on Monday. Malissa Bond, 53, was hit by a vehicle around 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5. Bond was walking alongside the intersection of Auburn Street and Irving Avenue when the driver struck Bond and fled the scene. Upon arrival, Bond was found unresponsive and was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her injuries. Bond died from multiple blunt trauma early Tuesday.
