Two Janesville teenagers arrested for armed robbery

JANESVILLE, Wis. — The Janesville Police Dept. said its officers arrested two teenagers for an armed robbery that took place Tuesday morning.

According to a press release, officers responded at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after a woman walking her dog reported two teenagers walked up to her, both holding handguns, and demanded she hand over her things.

The woman was able to get the license plate of the car the suspects used as they drove off. That car had been reported stolen on February 5th from Laramie Ln. in Janesville.

Janesville police said they saw the car hours later near Wright Rd. and Stuart St. and tried to pull it over, but the drivers wouldn’t stop. After a chase, officers arrested 17-year-old Ishmail Gill and a 15-year-old suspect.

Both teenagers are facing a number of charges including armed robbery and operation of a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.
