Byron, IL – A Park District employee inadvertently caused a security scare at Byron Middle School today, according to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department. The incident occurred at 7:55 a.m. when the employee, carrying a long, slender case into the school’s theater, was mistaken for carrying a weapon. This sighting led to the activation of emergency procedures to protect students and staff.
