Rockford non-profit helps make “Swiftie’s” dream come true

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The latest wish granted by Rockford’s Nikolas Ritschel Foundation and “Nik’s Wish” sent a 19-year-old cancer patient to see Taylor Swift in concert.

“Nik’s Wish” helped get Alabamian Jordan Morrow to a sold-out concert. Morrow said that Taylor’s music has been impactful throughout her treatment journey.

“I think I screamed too much,” said Morrow of the experience.

Morrow said she lost her voice from singing along to Swift’s performance. She was able to get to the sold-out Era’s Tour concert thanks to “Nik’s Wish”.

“We’ve delivered over 320 wishes in 38 states.” said the foundation.

The foundation is focused on young people ages 18 to 24.

“We have what we call wish angels.” said the founder Kelli Ritschel Boehle. “These are spokespeople in different states, and they help us connect us with the major cancer centers in the area.”

That’s how they met Jordan. She is a 19-year-old with a fast-growing aggressive brain tumor.

In her first 30 days of radiation therapy, Jordan said she found hope in Taylor’s music.
