Police respond to possible Rockford shooting, say suspects fought with officers

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Three people were arrested Sunday morning after police responded to a possible shooting, and authorities said the trio fought with officers during their arrest.

Rockford Police said officers were in the 800 block of Halsted Road when they heard multiple gunshots.

The three suspects were seen in a nearby vehicle, police said, and were arrested after what police called “a brief struggle with officers.”

Letrevion Starnes, 21, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated battery to police after a loaded handgun was reportedly found on his person.

Sequence Rogers, 25, and Mackenzie McCarren, 26, were charged with resisting arrest/obstructing justice.
