Police respond to gunshots near Sinnissippi Park, arrest suspect

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — After shots were fired in the area of Sinnissippi Park on Sunday night, police say Antavieon Walls, 21, was found walking in the middle of the road with a gun.

According to Rockford Police, officers responded to the area of Arlington Avenue and Prospect Street around 8:10 p.m.

Authorities said Walls had a loaded handgun and a box of ammo on him when he was approached by officers.

He was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and booked into the Winnebago County Jail.
