ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A Rockford car salesman, Crisoforo Osorio-Gonzalez, has been found shot to death in Chicago, a day after his boss said he took two people on a test drive and never came back.
Osorio-Gonzalez, 36, was found dead in Chicago on February 10.
He worked at 21st Auto Sales, at 2506 Broadway, for nearly two years.
According to the business owner, Gonzalez took two customers on a test drive Friday before going missing.
The car shop owner, who declined to be identified, said police later discovered the car in Chicago.
The Cook County coroner said Gonzalez had been shot in the back of his head and the back. No arrests have been announced.
“I did call him about 12 p.m. to see what he was doing because he always kept in touch with me,” said the owner of 21st Auto Sales.
Gonzalez was the manager of the shop and a long-time friend of the owner. He was born in Mexico but had been living in Rockford for more than two decades, specializing as a mechanic.
