Oregon man found guilty of rape, domestic battery

OREGON, Ill. (WTVO) — James Clevenger III, 61, has been found guilty of six counts of Criminal Sexual Assault and one count of Domestic Battery, according to the Ogle County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Clevenger, a resident of Oregon, was the subject of an investigation that began in June 2021 after a minor girl filed a domestic battery complaint with police.

During the investigation, authorities discovered Clevenger had sexually assaulted the girl, and charges were authorized against him.

Sentencing is forthcoming; Clevenger is due back in court on March 13th.
