ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — K9 Nyx’s public visitation is being held today from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at City First Church.
A law enforcement walk-through will begin at 3 p.m., followed by a celebration of Nyx’s life at 4:30 p.m., police said.
Community members will be invited to sign the register book, leave condolences, or make donations at Grace Funeral Home, at 4301 N. Main Street, if they cannot attend.
K9 Nyx was shot in the 2900 block of 11th Street while she and her human partner were tracking down a domestic violence suspect.
