Department of Justice charges Beloit man with drug dealing, gun crimes

MADISON, Ill. (WTVO) — A Beloit man has been charged in federal court with gun and drug crimes resulting from a 2022 investigation.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Denzen Jones, 41, is charged with distributing cocaine and fentanyl, possessing cocaine for distribution, and maintaining a drug trafficking place.

He is also charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon and possessing a loaded firearm in relation to a drug trafficking crime.

If convicted, Jones faces a sentence of 20 years in prison.

Jones was the subject of an investigation by the Beloit Police Department, Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the U.S. Marshals.

In 2019, Jones was the victim of a shooting in the 1200 block of Keeler Avenue. Isaiah Evans was convicted in that case.
