FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) – A Freeport non-profit will soon receive $43,000 to improve production of its garden and supply fresh produce to its community. On Friday, the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) announced the eight recipients to receive funds from the USDA Specialty Crop Block Grant program. In 2024, IDOA will distribute nearly $525,000 to Illinois non-profit projects to support the specialty crop industry.
