Woman wanted in Winnebago County arrested in Ogle County for methamphetamine

LINDENWOOD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police have arrested a Rock Falls woman, wanted on Winnebago County warrants, during a traffic stop in Ogle County during which methamphetamine was found.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, Bonita Kirby, 34, was stopped on I-39 near Route 64 around 1:15 a.m. Friday morning.

She was initially arrested for driving on a revoked license and warrants for her arrest out of Winnebago and Lee Counties, but then the drugs were allegedly found in her Ford F150 as it was being prepared to be towed.

Kirby was then charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

At the Ogle County Jail, she was issued additional citations for Suspended Registration and Inoperable Registration Light.

She was released on the drug and traffic charges but held in custody on the outstanding warrants, police said.
