Rockford man charged with attempted arson, battery is still not in custody

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police is still looking for Mondrellus Leach, 33, for allegedly strangling a woman and trying to set her home on fire.

On September 3rd, Leach allegedly started stalking a woman. The next day, he strangled the woman, threatened her with a knife, broke several windows and attempted to set her house on fire, according to court documents.

The suspect continued to stalk the woman until September 9th. He also broke another window on the 9th.

Leach is charged with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated assault, three counts of criminal property damage, stalking and two counts of attempted residential arson.
