Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro campaigns for US Sen. Tammy Baldwin in Janesville

JANESVILLE — Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro offered a few “simple” steps for success while campaigning for U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin in Janesville on Saturday.

“Three letters,” Shapiro told a group of Baldwin supporters at the Janesville Woman’s Club. “G, S and D — get stuff done. That’s Sen. Baldwin.”

Baldwin, a Democrat from Wisconsin, is facing a challenge from businessman Eric Hovde, a Republican, in the Nov. 5 election.

Stumping for Baldwin on Saturday, Shapiro pointed out that the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Wisconsin have much in common and both are key states in the November presidential election.

“Here is an example of what Sen. Baldwin has accomplished,” Shapiro said. “She has been instrumental in expanding high speed internet to rural areas. People are now connected to education, connected to doctors and connected to small businesses.”

Republican response

Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman Brian Schimming issued a statement Saturday in response to Shapiro’s campaign visit to Wisconsin for Baldwin.
