BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — Officials intercepted a student who brought a BB gun to Washington Academy in Belvidere on Friday.
According to the school, on September 23rd, the administration learned the gun was brought to school in a student’s backpack and alerted law enforcement.
“It was determined that at no time was there a credible threat to students or staff at Washington Academy,” officials said.
Washington Academy is an elementary school, located at 1031 5th Avenue.
The incident is the latest in a string notifications sent to parents of Rockford-area schoolchildren over the past weeks due to school threats , fights , and incidents at Rockford-area schools over the past weeks
