Man, arrested for theft in Oregon, released and re-arrested for another crime later that day

OREGON, Ill. (WTVO) — Police say a man from Kenosha, Wisconsin stole from an Oregon gas station, fled from police, was arrested and released, and then committed another theft.

According to the Oregon Police Department, around 1:22 p.m., Mark Everett, 39, was arrested after fleeing police a half hour after it was reported that he committed theft at the Shell gas station, at 201 S. 4th Street.

He was taken to the Ogle County Jail for processing and then released on conditions of the Pretrial Fairness Act. He was given a notice to appear at a later court date.

Then, at 5:35 p.m., Everett was arrested again for criminal trespass to property and was also charged with theft from the Oregon Super Value grocery store.

He was taken to the Ogle County Jail for a second time, and left with the correctional deputies, police reported.
