(WIFR) – The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) announces an increase in nonfarm jobs in eight metropolitan areas and a decrease in unemployment in nine areas. Rockford saw the largest decrease in unemployment rate compared to other metropolitan areas in the state. Unemployment in August sat at 6%, down from 7% in August 2023.
