Beloit’s elders learn what services are available to them at annual senior fair

BELOIT, Wis. (WTVO) — Beloit Seniors got the chance to learn more about the services available to them at an annual local fair.

This morning the 36th annual Beloit Senior Fair was held at the Eclipse Center. The free event featured 68 exhibitors with information about insurance, long-term health care, health screenings and flu shots.

Free bus rides from Beloit Transit were available to and from the fair. Organizers said it is important to let residents know about the services available to them.

“This information is very vital for seniors. It helps them determine the things, the next steps that they want to take with some things in their life. With their health and with their insurance,” said City of Beloit Senior Center Manager Debbie Kraus.

The senior fair was not just information, there was some fun to be had too. Seniors were able to enjoy live music and games at several of the exhibits.

Kraus added the city is already looking forward to next year’s fair.
