ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Fire responded to a fire in the Fire Department Coffee building on Thursday.
Fire Department Coffee is a veteran and firefighter-owned roasting facility, and one of their businesses is located at 1311 Harrison Avenue.
Employees called 911 with a report of a fire within the exhaust piping around 7:36 a.m. The fire extended to the roof of the structure.
RFD arrived to smoke coming from the roaster’s pipe and had the fire under control within 10 minutes.
The business remained closed until IDPH could come and inspect the products that had been damaged. No one was injured during the incident.
