Oregon man arrested in Ogle County Sheriff’s investigation into drug operation

OREGON, Ill. (WTVO) — Ogle County investigators and the Illinois Conservation Police have arrested an Oregon man for growing marijuana.

According to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, police conducted a search warrant Thursday around 10 a.m. in the 300 block of N. Mix Street that concluded with the arrest of Brandon Scott Miller, 30.

Miller was charged with Unlawful Production of Cannabis Sativa plants and was taken to the Ogle County Jail.

He was granted pre-trial release and given a notice to appear at a future court date.

Police said the investigation is still ongoing and further charges are pending with the Ogle County State’s Attorney’s Office.

While recreational marijuana use is legal in Illinois, only residents with a Medical Cannabis Registry Identification Card are able to grow a maximum of five cannabis plants
