Rockford man charged with attempted murder for the second time

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Alex Boose, 36, for attempted murder for the second time.

On September 14th, around 10 p.m., officers were called to the Rockford Ridge Apartments in the 300 block of Cameron Avenue after reports of a man being shot in a parking lot. Police found the victim suffering from gunshot wounds to his stomach and ankle.

The victim was taken to OSF St. Anthony Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Authorities also found six shell casings at the scene.

From surveillance footage, police said they saw an SUV pull into the parking lot and a subsequent argument between a group of people. The driver proceeded to fire a total of six shots, three being at the victim and the rest at the crowd, according to authorities.

Police were able to identify Boose as the suspect after multiple interviews and looking at surveillance footage.

Boose was taken into custody on October 3rd and charged with illegal possession of a firearm, aggravated battery by discharge of a firearm, felon possession of a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm while occupying a vehicle and attempted murder.
