Fourth suspect arrested in connection with Guilford and Mulford shootout

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Police have arrested Chauncy Bueno, 26, in connection with a broad daylight car-to-car shooting with three teen robbery suspects that came to an end at the intersection of Guilford and Mulford roads on Tuesday.

According to Rockford Police, three teen suspects in a stolen 2017 Hyundai Tuscon arranged to meet with a teen victim in the 6000 block of Academy Trail to purchase vaping cartridges.

During the meetup, the suspects, including Terrance Preshon, 18, allegedly robbed the victim at gunpoint and pushed him out of the car, running over and breaking his ankle as they drove away, the arrest report said.

Bueno, who was in the house, got into the passenger seat of a white Dodge Journey with another man driving, and the pair pursued the Hyundai with the intention “to obtain a license plate … so they could give the information to police,” Bueno later told authorities.

Bueno claimed the suspects saw him following and pointed guns in his direction, at which point he opened fire with his own weapon.
