Janesville brush fire put out amid elevated fire risk

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – The Janesville Fire Department put out a large grass fire Friday around 12:45 p.m. between the 600 block of Cambridge Drive and Sunset Drive. The fire took two and a half hours to extinguish, requiring a response from 14 firefighters. It burned 1.67 acres and used more than 1,000 gallons of water.
