Fire destroys garages at Rockford apartment complex Sunday night

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Firefighters were called to a multi-family apartment complex for a fire that started in a six-car garage.

According to the Rockford Fire Department, crews were called to 4520 Trevor Circle around 7:37 p.m. and found two units of the 6-unit garage completely engulfed in flames.

The fire spread to the adjacent garages and resulted in an estimated $120,000 in damages.

Firefighters were able to control the blaze within 25 minutes, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

No one was injured in the fire.
