This Illini team hasn’t played the same game two weeks in a row – battling hard in a low-scoring loss to Penn State, needing overtime to survive a shootout against Purdue, and then came the 21-7 win over the Wolverines.
It’s already been a solid season, and with four very, very winnable games to close against Minnesota, Michigan State, at Rutgers, and at Northwestern, something special could happen with a shocker here.
Oregon didn’t have any issues in a 35-0 win over Purdue, but this should be an interesting fight before going to Michigan next week.
This is the fourth time these two have met. The first was a 20-16 Illinois win to open up the 1970 season, but the Ducks won early in 1995 and 1993.
