Rockford felon admits to delivering drugs, possessing two firearms during search warrant: Police

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jonathan Washington, 35, after a search warrant where deputies recovered guns and drugs.

On November 7, around 9 a.m., Winnebago’s Narcotics Unit and Detective Bureau searched the suspect’s residence in the 2100 block of Green Street. Officials had to break down the door due to no one answering when they announced themselves.

Police detained Washington when he arrived after they broke down the door.

During the search, deputies found two handguns, ammunition, cannabis, MDMA, oxycodone and money. The suspect told authorities he had been delivering cannabis for around two years.

He continued to tell officials he also delivers MDMA pills, has had possession of oxycodone pills and was given one handgun as a gift and the other as payment. He said he keeps them to protect his family because they have been robbed in the past.

The suspect also had a warrant out for his arrest for driving with a revoked license.

Washington is charged with 2 counts of felon possession of a firearm, manufacturing and delivering cannabis, possession of narcotics and possession of controlled substances.
