JANESVILLE, Wis. (WTVO) – A 58-year-old man is dead after authorities say he failed to stop at an intersection and was struck by an oncoming vehicle Monday morning in the Town of Janesville.
According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened just after 6 a.m., at the intersection of County Road H and County Road A.
The sheriff’s office says the 58-year-old man, a resident of Sussex, Wisconsin, was traveling south on County Road H when he failed to stop at County Road A and collided with a westbound vehicle driven by a 19-year-old Janesville man.
The 58-year-old driver was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The other driver was also transported to the hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening.
No charges have been filed, the sheriff’s office said in a release.
The name of the deceased victim is currently being withheld and will be released by the Rock County Medical Examiner’s Office at a later date.
