Deputies: Wanted intoxicated man falls asleep in Taco Bell drive-thru, flees the scene

LOVES PARK, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Anthony Tagle, 32, for allegedly fleeing from authorities when he was found intoxicated and asleep in his car in a Taco Bell drive-thru.

On Jan. 2, around 11 p.m., deputies were called to the Taco Bell located at 4001 McFarland Road for reports of an intoxicated man not advancing in the drive-thru line. When officials arrived and turned on their emergency lights, Tagle fled the scene, according to court records.

One of the employees told deputies the suspect did not advance through the drive-thru lane for five to 10 minutes. When she went to check on the driver, she found him asleep at the wheel, according to court documents.

Authorities later found Tagle’s vehicle parked at a residence in the 7300 block of Keystone Place where he was taken into custody. Deputies found multiple empty alcohol containers inside the vehicle.

The suspect told officials his cousin was driving and not him. Tagle was wanted for driving with a revoked license.
