Rockford Police swear in 6 recruits, promote 2 officers

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — The Rockford Police Department held a ceremony to swear in six recruits and promote two officers on Friday.

Recruits sworn in

Jared Reyes is a graduate of Woodstock North High School in Woodstock, Illinois, and is a current member of the Illinois National Guard. He was employed by State Protection Services prior to being hired by the Rockford Police Department.

Brenton Payne is a graduate of Belvidere North High School in Belvidere, Illinois, and is an active
member of the Air Force National Guard. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana.

He was employed by North Oaks Medical Center prior to being hired by the Rockford Police Department.

George Curry is a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Rockford, Illinois. He was employed by
Target prior to being hired by the Rockford Police Department.

Nile Bensalem is a graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, Illinois, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois. He was employed by Huntley Ford prior to being hired by the Rockford Police Department.
