Three displaced in early morning house fire in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Rockford Fire Department responded around 4:00 a.m. to a fire at 1320 Elm Street that left three residents displaced. Firefighters arrived on scene to find smoking coming from the front door. Upon further investigation, it was determined the fire started in the dining room and was quicky extinguished. The fire was contained to the dining room, but did cause $9,000 in damage. All three family members living in the home were evacuated and no injuries were reported.
