ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – JMK Nippon’s beloved head chef dies about a month after he was hospitalized for a serious accident.
Takuji Sakiyama died at 7:03 p.m. Friday, March 21 according to his son’s Facebook post.
Sakiyama’s son, Ryan, says in the post he passed peacefully and is no longer in pain. He also said information about a memorial service will be posted once he knows.
According to a GoFundMe fundraiser created after his accident, he fell while running errands on February 18. When Sakiyama fell, he hit his head, crushing his spinal cord between the C6 and C7 vertebrae…
