UW Health oncologist shares signs and symptoms of kidney cancer

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – March is kidney cancer awareness month and that means it’s time for a reminder to get screened.

Kidney Cancer is among the 10 most common cancers in both men and women in the United States. The American Cancer Society reports that more than 80,000 Americans will be diagnosed with it in 2025 alone.

UW Health oncologist Dr. Nameer Mardini explains that this is a type of cancer that starts in the kidney when cells in the body grow out of control. As more cancer cells develop, they can form a tumor and can spread to other parts of the body…
