Superintendent of Rockford Public Schools announces plans to step down

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – After spending 12 years as the superintendent of the Rockford Public School District, Ehren Jarrett announces he will not seek renewal of his contract.

In a news release from district leaders, Jarrett says he will continue to serve in his role through the end of his contract, ending June 30, 2026.

“While I have made the decision not to seek another contract with the Rockford Public Schools, I plan to be fully engaged with my duties as RPS superintendent until my current contract ends on June 30, 2026,” Jarrett said in the news release…
