An investigation that’s been ongoing for months by the Rockford Police Department’s Narcotics Unit has netted multiple arrests in the city that are linked to fentanyl distribution.
Rockford Narcotics Investigation Results in Arrests
According to a press release from the Rockford Police Department, the DEA and the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Narcotics Unit during searches of several Rockford homes.
The officers executed warrants in March (2025) at residences in the 300 block of Cameron Avenue, the 500 block of South 5th Street, and the 4000 block of Louisiana Road.
Charges Filed Following Search Warrants
Following the investigation and searches of these homes in Rockford, the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office reviewed the evidence and authorized charges against these four individuals:
- Drew Yancy, 22, Rockford – Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, Unlawful Calculated Criminal Drug Conspiracy
- Miccah Simmons, 22, Rockford – Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl, Unlawful Calculated Criminal Drug Conspiracy, Possession of Cocaine.
- David Chapman, 57, Rockford – Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Calculated Drug Conspiracy, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession with Intent to Deliver Fentanyl.
- Trayvon Wilder, 24, Rockford – Unlawful Calculated Criminal Drug Conspiracy (not in custody)
Authorities Seek Public Assistance
When this story was published, 24-year-old Trayvon Wilder was not in custody, and Rockford PD is asking for anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact RPD at 815-966-2900, or through their social media channels.
