OREGON — On March 25 at approximately 7:49 a.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 17,000 block of East Illinois Route 38 in Creston. After investigation, deputies placed Sara E. Hall, 57, of Rochelle under arrest for driving while license suspended. Hall was also cited for no insurance. Hall was released on a notice to appear pending a future court date.
On March 25 at approximately 8:21 p.m. deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 19,000 block of East Illinois Route 64. After an investigation, Nickoll Y. Espinel Nieto, 20, of Elgin, was placed under arrest for no valid driver’s license. Espinel Nieto was additionally cited for speeding 35+ miles per hour over speed limit. Espinel Nieto was released on a notice to appear bond with a future court date.
On March 25 at approximately 10:15 p.m. deputies along with Lynn-Scott-Rock Fire were dispatched to a possible-single vehicle on fire in the lane of traffic on North Illinois Route 251, near the intersection with East Mowers Road. Upon arrival, it was determined the vehicle was not on fire, but was abandoned in the northbound lane of traffic with heavy front end damage. The vehicle, a black 2020 Ford Escape, was northbound and exited the roadway, striking the guard rail on the east side of the roadway. The vehicle was unoccupied when deputies arrived on scene. Through the course of the investigation, deputies arrested Amber L. Lopez, 33, of Davis Junction, for driving under the influence of alcohol. Lopez was additionally issued citations for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, failure to report a property damage accident/driver, unauthorized parking on the roadway, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving under the influence of alcohol BAC >0.08.
