Woman crashed into a fence while fleeing officers in Rockford: Police

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Park District Police arrested Dana Pederson, 44, for crashing into a fence while fleeing from authorities, according to court records.

On April 7, around 1 p.m., officers saw a maroon Ford Focus that was swerving over the double yellow line on Whitman Street. The suspect continued driving on Whitman despite road closure signs, court documents show.

Pederson proceeded to crash into a wooden fence of a residence in the 600 block of Whitman and flee on foot, officers said.

She was found in the backyard of a house in the 800 block of Haskell, where she was attempting to hide, police reported. Authorities held her at gunpoint because she was resisting arrest…
