Freeze Warning in Southeastern Illinois
According to the National Weather Service, a Freeze Warning is in effect for most of the counties in southeastern Illinois along the border with Indiana, where frost and freeze conditions are expected through Wednesday morning (4/9).
With a historic amount of rain falling in parts of downstate Illinois over the past week, the National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Flash Flood Warning for communities along the Embarras, Kaskaskia, and the Little Wabash River.
Flooding Growth Grows Downstate
Rivers are expected to rise nearly 10 feet above flood stage in some parts of the state, according to the latest forecast from NWS.
Temperatures are expected to stay in the upper 40s to lower 50s through Friday in the Rockford region, eventually warming into the 60s for Saturday (4/12) and Sunday (4/13).
